LOL, the price of the Porsche is 150% of the Corvette. Some teenagers on a random messageboard might think that's nothing, IRL is a hefty amount of money.
Witty comeback btw
I wonder too btw how many Z06's are imported. Would like to see some figures of that.

Which Porsche are you talking about? Please tell me. Last time I checked Porsche was a manufacturer, not a stand alone car.

LotusGT1: as i said if almost all car journalists consider the 911 a rival then it can't just be my opinion thats wrong. I know you may find this hard to believe but I value their opinion more than yours...

You really think so RC? I don't. I would agree that people go through all that just because they want the car, like I would pay 3times the money for an F50 just because I want one really bad, but I dont think these people who import the cars buy it because of its bang for buck value.
It would be cheaper for them to go out and buy something as practical localy.

Not true.
In all the countries it is in, the closest rivals are still more expensive and difficult to obtain.
The fact is that the C5 Z06 is not the C4 that the world got to know and hate... it is a superb car that should cost $40,000 more... and does a lot more than it's level of technology and price indicate it should.
The C6 coupe is only a few small steps behind the C5 Z06 - and if all goes as planned the C6 Z06 (or what ever they call it) may end up with a slight price adjustment to compensate as the car is going astound people.
I mean - think about it - BMW has the uber-rare expensive M3 CSL that is just about a threat to the 4 years old Z06 - the uber-rare expensive 360CS is just about a threat to the 4 year old Z06 - Porsche has the uber-expansive 911TT, GT2 and GT3 which is able to oust the Z in a few areas.
In other words - the only cars close in handling prowess are ultra-narrow focussed cars like the Radical, race Exige etc or uber-modified race version f cars like the GT2 and GT3.
The only cars that come close in comfort and amenities are more expensive and give up performance (360 Modena, and 911 Carrera).
No one said it is "the best car in the world - period" - It is just frustrating that as much misinformation abounds that fails to realize that at this time - the Z06 is actually without equal in the all-round nature of the way the car delivers.
There is nothing wrong with admitting that the Z06 is the best at what ti does - it was not always like that - and maybe this will insent Porsche, Lamborghini, Lotus and Ferrari to try make a similar car - but that probably won't happen - because there is too much of a snob appeal to having an exclusive expensive toy..

Well done, just dismiss the endless list of incorrections you posted to get back with this.

The basic 911 Carrera, idiot. The rest is even more expensive. Don't try to be clever, you suck at it.

The M3CSL isnt fast period. I dont think the C5 Z06 will give the CS any competition in the performance department, neither would it do anything to the GT2.
Sorry I just dont see that happening unless I see some hard evidence.

I use the GT2 as an indication of how extreme the next level 911 is in order to deliver the goods.
Much more expensive - and much more single focussed.
The CS is a much easier bet - so says at least one Z06 & CS owner on the Z06 forum.
His CS is a much more knife edge car, signle focus car, that he has indicated would really need a racing, wheel to wheel situation, one a nice smooth track, with a very competant driver to actually walk away from his Z06 with any large margin.
Obviosuly he is in love with the CS and brags about the sound and feel and ambience - but admits its not the most practical car he has ever owned...
But you see again - how the only way the 360 was able to compete wasd to become a super-specialized car.
That's the point...

You goddamn idiot.
If you don't take the time to read any of this, shut the fuck up. Prices are mentioned a few times in this thread.
I don't know what the fuck you want with your third point, but since you seemed to want such a great discussion, I challenged you first.
"Give me ONE point where I say something that isn't true, I challenge you. "
Make my day little wanker.....

Guys, if this topic reached the point where you just call names, going around the same point 200 times, I don't see the need to let it open
