Toronto, were you talking about the S4 not the RS4? I know the S4 is NA 4.2L V8. The RS4 should be comming around sometime in the next year or two. That definately looks like it's going to be turbocharged from what i've read. At this point it looks like it's between a biturbo V6 or the Biturbo V8 from the RS6. Considering how Audi had to Squeze the NA V8 into the S4, it seems like it would be pretty rough to fit it with turbos and intercoolers too. I'm kinda leaning toward the turbo V6. Either engine power is probably going to be 420hp - 450hp!!!

IMO doing that would be very very stupid because i have test results of a rs6 vs. a Gallardo, and the RS6 was FASTER to 100km/h and FASTER to 400m, that a @#&$ing lambo Gallardo !!!!!

so imo it would be pointless, if it is alredy faster.

but i guess audi spent alot of money designing the Gallardo engine, so they have to flogg it off in as many cars as possible

If I was in charge it would have the V10 with twin turbos and all the good stuff I could put into it.
I think that Lamborghini sells most of it's cars with it's
name. It's just like with former Rolls Royces and Bentleys,
they were technicaly inferior to the Mercedes S Class and
BMW 7 series but they still sold because of the fact that they
were status symbles.

Lambo will makemoney due to increased efficiency, etc. BUt i dont know about a lambo engine being in the next RS6. It's liek Audi cant make themselves a challenger to BMW and Mercedes on their own merits and technical strength, and have to resort to all means possible to try and compete. a case of trying WAY too hard.

It should crush the M5, the only thing the M5 had going for it over the other super-saloons was its manual transmission. Now that it lost that, there is nothing. The Audi has the foot up with the DSG and its quatro AWD on the RS6

Crush the M5? I dont know, but i doubt it. Steering feel, handling, driver involvement, cornering dynamics, throttle adjustability, heel 'n toe-ing, man-machine interaction? THe M5 will still have a manual box, the SMG system is just an option.

It's sad that Audi Quattro GmbH decided to put atmospheric motor V8 in the future RS4 and a V10 atmospheric in the RS6.

I prefer turbo motors, because they have more torque and are easier to modify.

I speak of the RS4. I understand your skepticism jj23, especially if you looks at this news from Auto express in August 2003: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/?video_...y.php?id=39251

Despite this news, too much automobile journalist asserted that the next Audi RS4 will be a 4.2 V8 40v Naturally Aspirated - 420 bhp (Not confirmed by Audi Quattro GmbH). In addition, the future RS4 will be exposed at the Salon of Geneva, in March 2005.

If you want to read a little more on the debate on the new RS4 I suggest to you to look at this:
http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=...viewforum&f=35

So if the future RS4 will be turbo, I will be the first happy one to have been mistaken.

SchSchwalbe JG 44.... thanks for the links. Interesting! Everyone was asserting that it would have a biturbo V8, and for those who thought they couldn't fit that engine in the car said it was going to be a biturbo V6 but looks like they are going NA. I love audi's turbo engines but their 4.2L V8 is a great engine! And tuning it to 420hp or more Should be an awesome engine.... except for those who were hoping to tune it like the previouse RS4.

what cars do BMW or MB got that Audi cant match, please tell me, so I can have a laugh.......
LOL... couldn't agree more brembo
