Ferrari hands down. It's a Ferrari, it's faster, it has one of the best V12 in the world, it's more funny to drive, you don't have a crappy auto gearbox and so on for another year.
Like Gabriel said thi comp doesn't have sense

i must say, i never would have even considered the big merc over the 575..
..until i went in an E55. WOW.. it was just incredible
the power was unlike anything i'd experienced. i got to feel ever one of the 700-odd Nm of torque and it was truly amazing. when i think of its power, i think of a huge sledgehammer.
if i was ever in the position to choose between these two cars, i'd definatly have a hard time deciding.
the E55 was way more than i expected.
and you can take the whole family with you in comfort - bonus!

The Benz over the Ferrari.

You can drive it to the mall and not get bugged when you park. And you can take a couple of extra grown-ups with you, while you're at it.

Shit. I must be getting old.

I really like alot of things about the E55. Its blindingly quick for a car of its class but it has 2 things that let it down terribly. Wheres my manual or sequential manaul gearbox? And the handling isn't really the most competitive against its rivals and it certainly can't compete with such a legendary car, the 575M.

Evo said that a 575M walks away from a WRX STi or a Lancer Evo 8 through the corner. Now that is an astounding acheivement for a RWD car next to rally bred AWD cars. Kudos to Ferrari! 8)

And there was a comparison done by CAR or Evo or one of those magazines
Doing the BMW E39 M5, Mercedes E55 AMG and the RS6.
M5 came out on top. One quote I can remember from it was "respect the elderly, especialy those with 400hp". They said that the M5 is a far better car through the corners and it just dosnt matter if the Merc was so much faster.
Cars are more then about speed, its also about feeling

Since I didn't specifically state which car I would choose: 575M. I thought you guys would guess by my sig and/or by my avatar! I drove in an E55 AMG once. i must admit: it was very quick. But I haven't even seen a 575M, much less driven it. But I think the 575M is a good 0.5s quicker in all acceleration distances + a higher top speed... not to mention the MUCH sportier handling.

Since you guy's don't agree with this comparison, lets change it: how 'bout 575M vs. SL 55 AMG???? Again, I'd still take the 575M by a wide margin...[/i]

Oh dear...the cars are soooooooooooo different from each other...

and you can't judge a car just by specs alone...that's why we have Jeremy Clarkson and Tiff Weedell to try the cars out and see what theyre really like.

575M...Benzes, even the new SLR were never sporty or exotic
