i would imagine the insurance on the cougar/t-bird wouldnt be terrible. its definitely not as bad as a 'stang would be. you'll probably pay more for the lincoln and the caddy than the others. my gf drives an older cougar and insurnace isnt terrible at all, but im in the states.
For a young male the Insurance may be high especially if he doesn't get any discounts (good student, etc...) and the mileage on mine is about 13 mpg keep in mind mine isn't completely stock so that alters it a little.

Ok, Ive been looking at a 95' Cougar for the last 2 days, with the 4.6 V8... The car is almost perfect, except one thing... and it could be major. My dad noticed the antifreeze is a muddy-brown colour and has not been replaced in a long time, if ever. My dad's friend told him that the brownness is from intake manifold wear, and that the engine will probably need replacement soon. This would be a huge shame as the car in every other aspect is amazing. How true is this statement?? Im taking it over to my dads friend's tomorrow to have it checked out so I would appreciate if I got a few answers by then. thanx!

Personally, I would go for the 240. Like Stracing said, you could easily drop in a SR20DET and that thing would fly.

None of the other cars on your list really do anything for me. I hate Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, with a few exceptions (GT40, etc., you know the good ones ) But of course its your car, so get what you like.

I dont know too much about the Cougar, the muddy brown anti-freeze doesnt sound too good though. Lets us know what happens when you get it checked out. Good luck bro, happy shopping
