Well, some guy who was apparently annoying got banned by this meathod. When he came back, he spent $1500 to do the temporary banning treatment to 10 other folks he suspected of banning him.

Not saying I agree with it, this is afterall, spammers corner... but, its an interesting means of generating revenue for the site
