Mclaren SLR
rc45, I already have the Ford GT and the Maranello. I'm just wondering if I would enjoy the SLR more than either of those two cars?

Huge price spread between those 3 cars. I just cannot imagine someone cross shopping those 3 cars, unless they already have 10 others and are looking for a special model to fill a gap in the colleciotn.
BTW, I actually bought an SLR this evening.
|
in 100% honesty and truth, i bought an SLR on June 17, 2005.
also, ive been to the dealers to see the SLR, the 575, and the FGT, all on the same day... do you call me out RC?
ok, its a camera SLR....

i wish i coudl tell you...
you could use NS as a general guide... the GT under HvS was clocked @ 7:52, the SLR @ 7:47, and the 575... um... was it clocked? i'd guess low 8's...
anyway, poland is a bit of a drive for me... but i'd love to see your cars, and shoot them

rc, How did you come to choose the SLR over some of the other 'supercars' and how do you like it so far?

Well, I already have 2 GT's 2 Enzo's and F50GT and F40GTE and myriad of others and I had been wanting to get an SLR for a while, and found one this evening.
And I was not about to let Paris Hilton outdo me...

rc, Just sent nthfinity pics of all the cars except the Maranello. Only have a pic of it in another drive and I'm sure that wouldn't do for you! But I fully understand..... on Lambo Power forum we just uncovered a guy who claimed to have taken delivery of a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (the factory won't let any dealership sell any until sometime in April) and he was exposed as a fraud in roughly 4 hours so I can understand why there is so much doubt on car ownership on various forums. I guess if you need some other proof, I'll be more than happy to provide it. I have better things to do in my life than to be a phony SOB!!

No offence meant, and my first instinct was if your age was accurate you were an upfront genenuine bloke
Besides, you followed up on the ball, which is a always a good sign - as the traditional BSers we get here (and sometimes we get unbeliveable BSers) are not quick on the comeback as they are to busy concocting the fake life they want us to believe.
The only car in your lineup that doesn't do it for me in a big way is the 430... but that is just because I am still stuck in the 80's and 90's and am in lust with the F40. F355 and the 550/575.

No offense taken rc. When you get to be my age, you try and not let every little thing bother you... (of course the key word is TRY) So far I can't figure out how to post some pics of the cars on JW. I went under photo gallery and I didn't see a link to post (your) pics. But then again, I need reading glasses! Enough said. If you can direct me on how to post the pics, I'll put them on tomorrow. Right now I gotta hit the sack. Kinda anxious to see the SLR in person tomorrow.

welcome to JW magwheel. I was kind of skeptical, reading the previous posts. We haven't had a BSer in awhile and i keep thinking we are due for one
hope you hang around for awhile.
:hello:

No problem. I'm not going anywhere unless I decide to sell all the cars..... yeah.... right!! If you really want to have a smile and don't mind visiting a Lamorghini site, copy and paste this link ( on LamboPower.com and you'll have some good laughs. http://www.lambo-power.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14208 After they found out he was a fraud, they deleted all his pics which was kinda a shame cause he had some great exterior and interior shots of an Enzo even if it wasn't his!

Hello magwheel, I see you already hit the BS verification wall now the big question is: can you shoot some sort of custom shot like explained here?
http://www.motorworld.net/forum/show...=124881#124881
And why not a whole topic about your cars when you are such a custom shot, to talk about them and to show pics?

Damn you guys are tough to convince!
No problemo TT. I'm going to see the SLR in a half hour or so and when I come back, I'lll take pictures of all the cars in the garage(s) with their owners manuals and keys and I'll even cut my wrists a little and send you guys some blood so you can do a DNA test to make sure I am who I say I am. Now I'm starting to get dizzy with all these verifications. But.... if that's what it takes, I'm more than happy to comply. You're not going to make me take a Polygraph too are you?
