where did you first work Z?
I've been working on cars from day one. My first job was at a quick lube chain in washington called Grease Monkey. worked there for about 7 or 8 months, then went to the Nissan dealer at the bottom of the hill and worked there washing cars after school and cleaning the shop that lasted about 3 months. From there it was the go-karts and bumper boats at the fun center, then i moved to AZ. first job i had there was at the nissan dealer yet again being a porter, then a brake shop and then the import shop i worked at until i left AZ and started here.
its great because i know where/what you are talking about. did you live around Tukwila and Renton? and T-Bird good job on the jump up! are you working to be a technician?

Well thanks guys for all the luck.
And yes I am going to School to be what you could call a white collar Mechanic I'm sure Z knows what I am talking about. The degrees are called Automotive Specialists and not the standard technician certificates (at my school atleast) I will end up having a Bachelors degree in automotive technology. it is alot harder than your normal training and another good thing is that the dealership might help with the school bills.

Well after a week I can say it is a really easy job and the time flies when you're working. I actually got to drive an NSX on my first day and then 2 more throughout the week (they don't suck but aren't that impressive either) doing the dealer trades is great because one I did killed 3 hours just to drive and pick up the car then bring it back. Washing the cars isn't much fun but whatever, I will say I'm sick of cleaning those damned MDX's. The TL is a suprisingly fast car and a blast to drive with the driving aids turned off. The good news is they are actually letting me help out on some of the cars when it is slow.

awesome, but PICS or STFU jk, make sure you dont screw up when they let you help out, hopefully they will see that you can handle it and make better use of you sooner.
well I would carry around a camera but I get pretty wet on occasion and I'm afraid to mess up my camera but once I get a new camera then I'll keep it on me. (would have had one sooner but then I started the engine swap on the Bird)

Yablokov getting an apprenticeship isn't too easy but you can get lucky sometimes. It helps A LOT to have some schooling or other experience since most Dealerships don't want to waste their time/money on someone who knows barely anything mechanically (not to be rude). If you have zero experience in cars either take some classes if they offer it at your school or a local College or try to get a job at a lube jockey style place or a tire shop then work your way up.

the one thing is that I think it annoys some of the other porters that I get to work on the cars already since a few of them have worked there a while and want to be a tech but are barely allowed to do anything.
