Am I the only person to think the Ford GT looks like shit? And before you diss me, I want you to know that I have seen it in person at the Toronto Auto Show.

Well I haven't seen one in person, but the lines are extremely similar to the original which i consider to be a truly beautiful car and yes i have seen one in person (and its mostly British of course so its bound to be better ...... ducks for cover)

Uhhh, then no need to post here...
Personally, I think that is a pretty kickass sighting, and if you don't think so that's great, but why not just keep your mouth shut about it?
Sorry if I missed some hidden sarcasm.

im just saying it isnt as good as an Enzo but none the less still a great car. but the fact that i wasnt excited was because it was late and we were leaving and after 12 hours of walking around with a big ass bag of free stuff. i just said i didnt get as giddy as a school boy like JC

Are you for real...i can't belive u compared this v8 powered 100 odd grand car with a pure breed V12 Ferarri which costs 3-4 times as much!...come on man... ...they are two totally differnt cars, both built to be fast sure, but one is the ultimate, and you can't compare a 360 competiotor to a top of tree supercar...
...i personaly think the Enzo is the pinnacle. Its perfect...Great sighting btw... 8)

The pinnacle is a spot reserved for and occupied by the F40... period...
Now - back to the GT - another timeless shape... a couple changes from the original are not perfect, but still a great looking classic shape.

It's hard to explain. First of all the front just looks wrong. And from some angles it just doesn't seem to work. Of course, that's just my oppinion. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

^^^^^
although i disagree, it truely comes down to opinion.
and RC, i would agree with you that the F40 still holds that spot in most ways.
i get quite giddy when i see the GT, a special ferrari (all 360's have become bland after the third one i saw, where 355s still hold something special when i see it.)
when i saw my first(and only) Porsche 959 in Koblenz, i was like this.. even knowing i would really never want one, i knew it was special. when i first saw a red Enzo at the auto show, i was like this... every time since that ive seen one of a few Ferraris i have been like this... there is something about the allure of this car that draws me into it, so much so, i would say i want it more then almost any car in the world... and its so close.
and al... the new one is 100% engineered in America... with some consulting with Saleen, Roush, and Aston Martin. regarding parts, most of those come from here too, with a few key elements (like the transmission) coming from companies like Ricardo.
thanks for all the nice comments guys...
i wouldn't have guessed so much controversay would come out of a few pictures from a Ford dealership

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - and somehow the GT just works for me... while the 360 (and even 430) just seem too... well, "expected" - there is nothing surprising about the shape... unlike the F355 that was timeless, the 360/430 tries too hard in my mind.

thats it! yes, timeless! the although the 360 only shares the roof with the 430... they really do look too much alike. the 355, the testarossa... something about thier shape makes them never look old, and outdated.
i may love the look of a DB2, but you could never get away with producing it today. where the lotus super 7 seems quite successful today as a caterham... and the GT has been quite successful as a kit car too.
