There's a feature on tuned leons in this months performance vw magazine - top car they had was wound up to 360bhp which is pretty impressive. It was posting high 13's in the quarter mile, so even with that much power its still no match for a stock 360 (don't know what times they post but i'm guessing low 12s. ?

So, the leon might be quick, but the real issue here is the sleepy ferrari driver...

A Seat leon Can be fast. On the 2.8v6 V.A.G. Engine can be fitted a twinturbo kit
whit 650 hp once i have seen A Volkswagen corrado Whit 550 Hp twinturbo VR6
and his top speed was a limited 326 KM/h his car was limited because at that top speed the engine had so mutch torque That his drive shafts broke

326Km/h Thats supercar territory

Yup, as mentioned by several people here already, it's definitely possible to tune a diesel to be quite fast. They make boatloads of torque when tuned and torque is a very important part of the acceleration equation. I'm sure you all ahve seen that video of the 11s 1/4 mile run of that Ford Fullsize diesel pickup. That's a 11s 1/4 for a 5000+lb pickup truck. Surely, a much smaller car that weighs half as much with say, half the power could run about as fast. I'm making assumptions about the Leon TDI, but it's possible.

For anyone who hasn't seen the truck vid, here's the link to the original thread:
http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7972 The video link is dead though unfortunately. if anyone has it hosted or knows where to get it, please post a new link.

There are several 4-Motion vehicles available with TDI engines around the world. In the US, however, only the Touareg, and the Phaeton(possibly) are available with a TDI engine and 4-Motion(or 4X-Motion in the case of the Touareg). The Passat gets the new 2.0 TDI with 140HP(though not with 4_Motion just yet) while the Touareg and Phaeton get the 5.0L V-10 TDI engine.

It's not really clear what VW will do with the 5th Gen Golf/Jetta platform. Surely the 2.0TDI will be available in those models, but whether or not 4-Motion will be available combined with a TDI or even at all on the Golf/Jettas(except in special models like the R32) remains to be seen.
