Do you really need that kind of revving from a street bike ?
You`ll probably do engine rebuild after 4-5000 km with that rpm

Wow, and thats without kneumatic valves. It's a small engine, it'll last, but whats horsepower output? I hope it's at least doing 125-130hp with those extra revs.

Its probably 24,000 mi for the valve adjustment, and 8000 mi for oil change.

The story goes that it'll produce around 130hp. According to the Yamaha-website we'll have to wait until 28 September for more info...

I have new specs
2006 Yamaha R6 additional details just released: Dry weight: 161kg (355lbs.), Max torque: 66 (68)Nm @ 11.000rpm, 127bhp (133) @ 14.500rpm, red-line confirmed at 17.500rpm and it has got a new back torque limiting slipper clutch and the first fly-by-wire on a production bike.
