No - it was apparently a screen capture of an image.
That's it.
Now I know I did nothing wrong - but the process of proving as such could prove to be a rather stressful situation.
This is where we get to think about what can say GM do, if you did have copyrighted images on your harddrive... afterall, everytime you visit their website (or anyone elses for that matter) your browser cachse THEIR property on your harddrive.

I think it's embarrassing for a major company like GM to go after private persons like this. I'm not to familiar with the american legal system but in Sweden (where we practice "code Napoleon, like I think you do in USA too) they would have no case at all.
Fight the power RC45. JW is behind you

Unless you were at the place where they showed the car or picture there of.. And agreed to the embargo on info about it.. Your safe.
The person who broke the embargo though would have a rough time in court.

thats ridiculous...................i'll kick in $5 ..........but in all honesty, how can they prove you were the one who stole the image? did you get a look at their 'evidence'? i'm still in shock that they tracked you down and confronted you like that. has this incicent changed your mind about purchasing a corvette or any GM product?

Ahhh i guess its time for you to move on down to Ford. 8) Seems like the general is trying to fuck you over. Thats not a cool thing to do to a customer, and maybe even future customer.

well, it took me 1 minute to get his home address and real name (without using any admin privileges on this site).... so I don't find it that surprising they found out who/where so quickly and certainly they broke no laws to trace him
sounds like someone in GM is gonna get raped over this though

Let this be a lesson to you youngins.. Theres no such thing as annonymity on the internet.
*the other forum I belong too has a habit of posting satalite photos of trolls houses along with pictures of their entire family. All without commiting anything illegal.. So it doesn't suprise me.

I never said I was surprised they could find him. I was just saying it's probabily illegal for them to find him and approach him like that. At least in Canada it is illegal. Maybe in the states the laws are different. But I'm sure RC will fill us in on that tomorrow.
