in the late 70's GM was putting radios in the camaro that were built in Japan for Audi.
Parts swapping is common throughout all of the automotive industry. hell, BMW was even using a Hydromatic (GM) transmission up until a couple years ago.

delco and delphi are/were sister companies.
it's never been a mistery. boge, bosch, hella, etc. are big companies that use the same parts for different cars.
why make a scandal out if this? your hella bulbs are the same in most luxury cars
RC could confirm that his vette's oil filter is the same as a gm mini van, and the vette's filter is more expensive

Actually my oil filter is the same as other high-performance/high flow/high filtration filters... not quite the same as aminivas, but the same as a number of other engine filters on the market

No it's not - if it was, it would be the same part number, and cost the same But it is by no means unique to the Vette... not many items in cars car.
Light bulbs are shared, knobs, switches, windshield wiper blades, lug nuts, bearings, zip ties, oil filters, fuel filters, electric window motors, seat motors, accesory belts etc etc etc.
If they were, you wouldn't be able to by peplacement belsts from the gates catalogue...
When items are shared, they are the same within GM It's only when GM sells the same stuff to BMW and Mercedes that they charge more
Remember I told you Corvette parts are cheap... real cheap.

my buddy isn't that stupid. With the first oil change he bought the "vette" oil filter, but then his cousin, who has a workshop, told him of the generic part.
