Well - I think I'll wait for Christmas... asking for both the game and the new computer
|
...seriously - to those whoīve alreadey played it quite some time - is is that good, graphics already looking very promising but u mentioned that the SIMULATION is also quite impressive.....is it !???
i bought a PSII and GT4 only because of the NS driving as i wanted to check it out but i have to say that - of course itīs "just" a game - itīs not very close to the real thing, the real driving impression/feeling - to say it - not even close itīs quite good to practice the track a bit but a guy who only "drove" NS on PSII and then thinks he can go and ride the real thing will be quite surprised
from what iīve seen i already love that GT Legends game and my serious question now - is it worth (to buy + new high-perf. PC ) !???
thx for your input guys...

Anyone who says FF is not a big deal is a stupid old fart.
Force Feedback is absolutly essential. Whats the point of a sim if you dont have force feedback? Force feedback effects these days are nothing like they used to be(vibrations). You cant drive withouht FF. YOu just cant. Its like driving with no audio or blind folded. THe wheel provides with all of the vital information. Tire state, road grip, track surface infromation....List is endles.
In a modern sim FF is absolutly essential.
And there are solid FF wheels. The Logitech Wheels are solid products. The GT4 wheel is 900 degrees, and ball bearings. Solid product. The Logitech MOMO is built like a truck. I own both. Both solid accurate products.
BTW none of the non-ff wheels TSW and the rest included beat the Logitech Driving Force Pro as far as resolution/accuracy goes.

Cool. Thanks for your thoughts on it.
I'm still kind of shying away from investing money in a nice computer and wheel setup as I know I wouldn't get anything done anymore. Maybe I could put like a 30 minutes a day restrictor on it or something.

-Not sure if its SLI, not my shots. I can manage better my with my rig actually Which is a single 850XT
And no, no Stratos, it doesnt race in the FIA GTC TC Championship which GTL simulates
Here is an example of a high quality shot I took Clean no editing at all. Keep in mind that there is some quality loss when a screen is taken, it looks better in game. This is from the demo, there is a slight change in color in the full release, it doesnt have this cartoony glow in it in the real thing, but just shows you how "clean" the sim looks.

Is it an Ultra?
You still need a killer rig to run this baby full force Actually you need the best of the best to run this smooth with all the deatails.
People are actually having better results ATI cards with GTL, they seem to have an edge in this particular sim.
But a 6800 ULTRA or an OCed GT should run it just fine, with a few things like track side characters off...
Plus you have the choice of running in DX8 mode instead of DX9. Thats 30fps right there, but you do miss out on the DX9 goodies, but it will still look ace.
