I tend to agree with that.

The old shape G55 is on my list of cars to buy if I had the money for a 20-car garage, though...

On a mercedes demo day they took us over this 'offroad' course in the G and then straight after in the ML. It was like night and day. I felt safe in the G, and sick in the ML (it was bouncier than Jordans left tit)

It doesn't look bad, it actually looks pretty good.
But as mentioned before, it doesn't look like a g-wagen......IMO it looks too similar to the new M-class. If I saw it from the front, I wouldn't be able to tell it apart from the M-class!

It was about time to completly change the g-wagen.The outgoing model according to my personal opinion, although it looked mean and tough it brought into my mind a russian 4x4, it was extremely overpriced and the interior quality nothing to be proud of. The new car although has lost its character on the looks department, it will most probably going to be competitive and a lot better car overall.

It doesn't matter how it looks or drives. It will suffer from many reliability issues anyway

Dont like SUV's in general and this looks boring imho. The only offroad that is nice is Range Rover and its little bro Discovery, truly beautiful and worth money event if its offroad.

Even if we ignore the rugged charms of the G class, it still looks like turd - worst merc visually in recent times.

i don't know what you mean by recent, since it is at least 3 decades old.

May be this is a version of the M class. but then again if it's to debut next spring, the design's probably final. wow. ugly anyways.

but, if you want a good 4x4, you still have the Land Rover Defender!
hopefully, the defender replacement, if there will be any, won't turn out like this.

It looks too sluggish without inheriting any of the aggressive lines of the mighty old G-class. New G=Scheisswagen

This also brings up the fact that Land Rover did a great job on thier Range Rover changes. They make the car uptodate looking without sacrificing the elegance or its offroad heritage.

It doesn't look particularly bad, but now it's just another SUV.
