It's rumored to weight somewhere between 1600 - 1800 Kg.
But like I said, this is just a rumor. We'll only know by the time of the launch.

Is that the final figure? Based on what info? BTW, dry or kerb?
(Sorry for all these questions, just curious. )
About the 0-60 time... A Saleen Twin Turbo makes 2.9, so it's not that far.
Besides, 0-60 times aren't what counts. A tuned Skyline can make great 0-60 times. Does that mean it's a great car? No. And this works for both sides.
The overall package is what counts for me.

The only concern that I have of the Veyron is the weight issue. It is said it would weigh 4000lb but it is also said it would weigh aroud 3500lb. I hope it will weigh less than a Murcielago (same kind of car AWD, mid-engine)

interesting info on the testing Everso. I guess it could make sense too, as a way to really test the mechanical traction of the car at a much slower speed with more runoff area.
Like you guys are saying I think weight will be the biggest concern with this car. Thats probably also causing the biggest problems in the handling department, especially considering the enormous tires required to control it as well as put the power down. I doubt the car loses grip progressively, but is rather more like a racecar - when you lose it, you REALLY lose it.

Veyron "predicted" weight: 3500lbs = 1600kg, but will probably be more
Enzo = 1365
CGT = 1380
That's over 200kg more than both of them..... 200kg is hardly an unsignificant figure.... that's like having an extra 3 passengers in your enzo whilst driving

true, 200KG more....but also approximately 350hp (or more) MORE than either of those for that 200kg
|
But power doesen't come into handling, grip, cornering, turn in and braking

They Veyron is going after a slightly different market segment than the Enzo and CGT though. Given, it is supposed to be a "hypercar" with incredible performance, but it is also supposed to be luxury and hi-tech. Given it has AWD, 7 gear DSG gearbox, 4 more cylinders than the Enzo and 6 more than the CGT, 4 turbos, AND a luxury interior, 200kg seems rather reasonable.

That's not really the point though, its competitors are the enzo, CGT, zonda etc etc....
I mean the XJ220 was the fastest car in the world about a decade ago, but it was widely regarded as a failure mainly down to its poor handling and the expectations jaguar had promised but failed to deliver

to be honest, right now we can only speculate about handling, grip, cornering...i'm QUITE sure that the car will be able to do all of that...better than what people are expecting.
i don't think Bugatti is out to play games with this car...they've never released a car which was a letdown...i can't see them starting now.
|
didnt they crash one, and almost crash another one? and bernd pick-his-nose has delayed it himself because of performance figures.
