Isnt this really just a really over-priced Seat?

I think it looks ace, if it goes anything like a MINI then they'll be winning.

It looks good, but it is still based on the Ibiza/Polo. Audi's all but confirmed the PQ25 platform underneath.

The chances are you were exactly right. It'll be based on the Ibiza/Polo with new cabin and sheetmetal. I expect the rest to be just about the same, down to engine choices. It makes no sense for Audi to develop this car from scratch.

It's hard to like a non luxo-barge with such a tall hood-line. The rest looks alright. I just don't like the Pedestrian safety requirements on the euro cars one bit.

Actually, as a discerning buyer what should seperate high end brands from their lowly siblings (and justify th eextra price) is that the car is unique.
The reason the Porsch e924 was a dismal failure is because Porsche fans did not want an Audi assembled Porsche on the cheap - and i believe when Audi simply wraps a Gold/Seat in a badge and lights the car does not do the brand justice.
Funny thing is the rest of the world spent 25 years making fun of Ford, GM and Chrysler for having duplicate but more expensive bretheren across the Ford/Mercury/Lincoln, Chevy/Pontiac/GMC/Cadiallac and Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler ranges.....
but when the rest of the world does it, it is acceptable

It's funny you should say that. Out of the German triad, I think Audi is the best one to pull off a small car. It's not like it's anything new in Europe with the Merc A-Class in the old A2. Nothing new here.

Just because it shares a platform doesn't mean that it's materials and spec won't be higher than the likes of the cheaper Ibiza. Of course there's some price for having an Audi badge.

I actually, sort of..., like the whole Volvo C30 thing they sort of have, except for the really tall front.

This car is not very good looking. I like most Audi designs, but this is a bit weird. It looks like a fat kid.
