hehe - I can think of a couple NY Z06Forum members who drive their cars regularly to jobs in downtown Manhattan who would disagree that "dodging the potholes" can't be fun
And yeah - track cars life hard lives - but they also live pampered lives

It just goes to show that even a pos French car is better then the best from America
I KID I KID!!!
Anyone know how much this vette weighs? Seems like they've stripped a ton of stuff away, that's cool 8) Must be a blast!

It probably weighs in at about 2900 to 3000lbs or so all dressed up for the track.
Roll cages, harness belts, fire extinguisher etc offset the weight saved by switching out seats, deleting A/C and airbags etc.
World Challenge spec cars weigh a little less because you swap the firbreglass bodywork for carbon fibre.
Heck, my street car tips the scales at 3080lbs with 1/4 tank of gas.

Actually I'd say that the frenchie is more refined and sophisticated than the Vette - with the 6-speed gearbox costing already 10,000€
|
Insane!
And then to think the Clio is like an entry cup for drivers

Oh - you are talking about a "purpose built" race car.. just get the same car in World Challenge spec with a Hewland Sequential transmission for $18,000 along with the carbon fibre bodywork and 4 corner coil over suspension for another $20,000 -
This aint no Renault Taxi Series car - its an actualy Monday drive, Sunday race car - just like the old school race cars of the "good old" days

There are guys out there with 50,000 miles on the street running those Pro-Chargers.
