Default Rosso Corsa E55 AMG, any others?

Not too Long ago I was at the local Mercedes dealership here in Charlotte and saw this car. I spoke to a few employees there and they told me this was a special "President's Edition" car that was specially ordered by the owner of the dealership. According to the employees, this is the only E55 in existence that is painted in Ferrari's Rosso Corsa. But if you'll notice on the window sticker, it's spelled Ross(a) Corsa. Rumor has it that Mercedes literally stopped the production line for this car to be painted, as well as a yellow SL65 AMG that's painted in a shade of yellow borrowed from Ferrari also. The SL65 is still owned and driven by the guy who owns the dealership. Can anyone lend any truth to this?

Sorry for the quality, it was kind of dark.

The guy who owns the Murcielago I had a ride in used to own a Holden Commodore (with 600+ hp) that was painted in Rosso Corsa.

I have a magazine review on the car, I will see if I can find some pics somewhere.

Interesting find, but the color doesn't go with the car at all, IMHO

As for the "President's edition", I can only guess....

Those are the only pics that I have, it's since been sold. Yes it's in US dollars. The owner of the local dealership is the president of this regions MB dealerships (I think). The President's Edition basically means that it was ordered by one of the MB USA presidents and was custom made at the factory, hence the the 15k fee for stopping normal production to make this car. I haven't seen the yellow SL65 lately, but I usually have my camera, so if I do I will take a few of it also.

I love the E55, and I love that color....needless to say I LOVE this car.

About the Presidents edition, there's a CLS version as well, less spectacular I might add...

There must be more than one yellow SL65 AMG. The one that is local to this area is still owned by the founder of Beck Imports, as far as I know. It was also a 2005 and had his name personalized on the lighted door panels just inside the doors. Still amazing none-the-less.
