Default Abarth 750 Zagato

Firstly I have to apologise for the sucky pictures - I only had my cellphone with me.

It was at a small "Italian Car Day" thing organised by a local Alfa dealership.

The best car was my friend's Ferrari 275GTB/4 of which I have many pictures linked from here:
http://e.co.za/Cars/

The next best according to me was this 50's Abarth 750 Zagato. As far as I know they where dynamite in the Targa Florio and Mille Miglia.

A thumb. 3 More and bigger images in here:

Because my images are not great I include a site with better images:

Too bad you didn't have a good camera with you. Oh well, better than nothing. I haven't seen one in the flesh before myself, but I sure hope it looks as good as it does in pictures. Especially the rear is so elegant. Zagato is amazing.

I reread your story on the trip to Europe with the 275 GTB/4 and I loved it again! It just so happens I read an article on the 40th anniversary of the 275 in the German edition (#54, 3/2004) of Ferrari World last weekend. In one of the pictures a part of the characteristical nose of your friend's 275 can be seen.

Thanks!

Yes there have been several stories covering the 275 tour and I have seen his car in a few of the articles. He has bought quite a few of the magazines where his car appears.
It feels great to be able to say "I was there." Still the best 2 weeks of my life.

The Abarth looks decidedly odd in the flesh. Its such a tiny car. I look at it and can't help thinking of classic matchbox models.
I like the double-bubble roof. It has a lot of character.
