I schoul these things well

Boy - that was an easy choice..

But technicaly, the C5 and C^ are 2 seperate platforms, and ideally you need to differentiate between the C5 Z06 and C5 Coupe... and the C6 Coupe/C6 Z06.

There are just that many weight, strength and rigidity differences.

And that isnot even considering price...

I think you also need to differentiate whether the SRT/10 is Coupe or Convertible.. again enough differences to be considered when using the platform for an "ultimate street car"

You also havent said whether special setups/wheels/tyres are allowed for each different category, or if the idea is to use the very same setup, right down to tyres and wheels and suspension setup for all venues.

This also makes a difference.

Well with money being a factor, its hard to go against the C5 ....its an older car and can be gotten for a good price now...easily upgradable....kinda unfair.

Other than that it would have to be between the Evo and the Mustang for me.

The C5 has a huge advantge on that list, but that too easy, so i'll pick the Evo

It should, although the C6 Z06's so much than the C5.

The C6 coupe and C6 Z are really their own cars, and a base C6 Coupe is on a par with the C5 Z, but the weight and smaller contact wheels and tyres are already a disadvantage - and yes even a stock C6 Z is an unbelievable car.

And few people will seriously start with a C5 coupe when the C5 Z06 is so cheap and accesible.

I mean in reality, you coul dleave the LS6 stock, except for headers, intake and muffler, and upgrade the brakes/suspension a little, peal off some weight and be absolutely dominant in many catagories.

Where as doing the same thing with the C5 coupe requires replacing pretty much everything, as the 'base' C5 Vette is far below the C5 Z in stock form.

Its like trying to start with a stock Mistubishi Lancer gutless rental and trying to build an STi killer, vs just getting a used EVO from the get go.

For a street car, straight line performance is a big deal (as almost every kind of street contest primarily involves acceleration.) Of course, turning is still an issues as you don't want to be left behind on a freeway onramp because your ladderbars are a hindrance. Basically, I'm not advocating a drag car set up but something more versatile. I'll go with either a Camaro or Mustang. Both are fun cars with lots of performance potential (read huge aftermarket.) People will know your car is fast, but just not exactly how fast. A last gen Mustang can be anything from a 15 second lacklustermobile to an 11 second beast without giving much away.

Evos and STI's work well too as they're just very hoon friendly. Dump the clutch and go! Minimal skill needed for launch until the tranny breaks at the drag strip where the grip is better. (I'm so sick of Evos lunching their trannies at the drag strip!)

I stick whit a awd car
Because you can use them all year round
When you have found the right setup you can pretty much beat everything on road and track

There is a HUGE difference between such unlimited budget tuner one-offs and "an all around street car".

Perhaps you need to chnage your poll to "WHich car would you use to create your dream unlimited budget tuner car".
