Default Chrysler/Dodge ME 4-12

Does anyone actually believe that this car will make it into production? I can't see this car ever being produced. American car companies tease us with these mouth watering supercars as concepts but never follow through in the production of them. I know there are the few exceptions like the Dodge Viper, Ford GT, and Shelby Cobra, but these are the very few. You also can't consider these cars to be super sports cars like the Enzo or Carrera GT whereas the ME 4-12 claims to be. Dodge claims this car has 850 hp, does 0-60 in 2.9s, and can reach speeds of 400km/h. I would like to see it to believe it.

don't forget the Saleen S7, that made it into production. of course it's not aimed at high [production] numbers like the viper and ford GT, though.

personally, i'm not gonna hold my breath for the ME 4-12, it has decent looks (not great), and those speed estimates are insane! 2.9 seconds to 60? that thing better have some super grippy tires and very little drag

it would be kinda cool, though, since road cars don't really see that kinda speed/acceleration from the manufacturer all that often 8)

It is unlikely for the ME 4-12 to go into production when the world is already over flowing with supercars. (not that it's a bad thing)

Chrysler would put the ME 4-12 to production IF the Cadillac Cien was also going into production, which it won't

This isn't an American car people... I mean, look where they got the engine (AMG for all the uninformed). It will be more German than American. They should produce it, but I don't think they will. They are to damn poor.

Are you kidding the S7 is better than the GT or the Viper it's in the supercar status like the Zonda and Enzo you just don't hear about it that much.

Think the jury is still out when it comes to the decision 'to produce or not to produce'

It will never go into production... only the drivetrain would cost over $150,000 USD (AMG-made 850 Hp 4 turbo V12 and specially-built Ricardo 7 speed trannie)... figure in the carbon fiber monocoque chassis and all the other exotic parts and now you're looking at a car that would probably cost as much as a Ferrari Enzo (maybe even more!), besides, Daimler-Chrysler already has a supercar in production (which, BTW, I don't like) in the new MB SLR.

As an styling excercise, it's nice and the performance numbers are incredible (right in the league of the yet-to-be-seen Bugatti Veyron), and it has nice looks, but too bad it only is a showcar.

I don't think the car will ever see production beyond being a concept cap.
but lets remember that the viper started as a concept, and became a production car (i don't think it's a supercar, IMO is a muscle car) after the good opinions of the so-called experts.

the numbers are impressive and all that kinda shit, but it maybe another attempt from american (whose asses now belong to germans) manufacturers to catch on the big league cars.

and the engine, its 20thousand turbos etc, seems to be: lets make the most big and powerful engine, like the cadillac 16.

the cleverness of a new engine, a new car, isn't putting a jet engine into the back of a car.
