Preview Shot: A drifting M3 GTR at the Nürburgring
I went to the training- and qualification sessions at the Nordschleife for the 24-hours race of the Nürburgring. This is just a preview shot of what's coming on. This is the Nr.2 BMW M3 GTR drifting its way through Schwalbenschwanz also known as the Mini Carussell.

nice picture. I love the shot.
What camera did you use? Looks like you were rather close to the track.

I use a Nikon D70, the lens that I used back there was a Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 (not mine). The weather conditions were awful, low-light situation. So, I'm glad I could use that glasswork Although, that I will never buy it myself, it is quite an old one too which makes it heavy. I would go for a 300mm one.

Thanks for your replies
I have just read that this years' 24-hours race has been won by this M3 GTR. So, Congrats to the whole team. Spectacular car, sound and driving
Btw: the second place is for the other M3 GTR, the one with number 1.
For those who are interested, here are the results : http://www-11.24h-rennen.de/content/...sp?sprache=ger

Here, in Spain, I saw the D70, Nikkon, about 900 €, so I´ve too much work to do to get one of those.

You will pay 1200 € for the whole kit (= D70 + 18-70mm Dx lens + 70-300mm zoomlens) here in Belgium, so I geuss it will be cheaper in the US. It's a "bargain", in a few weeks Nikon will release an updated version of the D70 it is called the D70s. Nikon will give the opportunity to all D70-users to upgrade there camera to a D70s, you can download new firmware via their website. The only difference will be that the D70s has a 2" lcd-screen. A D70 produces high-quality pictures, but don't let them fool you, the most important thing is the lens !!!
