What do You think about these two cars? 2001+ BWM M5+ Benz S
Well, I'm trying to pursuade my brother to sell his slow 02 S500 for a BMW M5. He kept saying that he don't like BMW because it's not luxury enough. Well I told him how faster the M5 is compare to his S500 and he's still hesitant.
Well, what do you think? Well I like the M5 interior for because it looks sporty and I have to love that 400+hp engine it got.
Also any M5 videos is welcome.

the M5 is 10 times better than any merc, so I would definitelly take the M5, but I would probably wait for the next one.

Sure, if he wants luxury, the S-Class is sure better, and the new AMG creations are mad!
But if you want driving pleasure, chassis balance and so on, the M5 is sure the way to go, no doubt about it...

Well it all depends what you're looking for. If you want luxery the Merc S class has been the trendsetter for decades and it just is a very good car.
The M5 is a totally different car, it's faster off course but for an everyday car most people would prefer an S class.

Tell him to wait for the new M5 - 7 speed semi auto with active suspension - so he can have the best of both worlds...

I heard that too. A friend of mine did an intership at BMW in Munich where he was assigned to the automatic gearboxes. After that, he's a fan of automatic 'boxes now  Then they must be good...
I also heard Mercedes is working on a 7 speed auto as well.

i don't thing that comparing the e39 m5 with an s 600 or s55 is logical, they have a huge price difference and although the e39 m5 is a rather older car it can still give some lessons on body control and handling. i would definetly prefer an m5 from a boring s 500

Anyway its not in the same categtory...he should comare the M5 with the E55, or the S500 with the 745i...
M5 gives the ultimate driving pleasure, the S500 is luxury car with maximum comfort,(and also power, but not as much as the M5 has).
I would be satisfied with any of them!

I don“t think this. Even though BMWs give more driving pleasure and performance than Mercedes, MB cars (specially AMG) can give satisfatory excitement with more comfort
