I don't quite understand the clutch thing. Is there hydraulic control over the clutch?

But no. Although the Ruf Rt12 is equipped with a manually operated six-speed gearbox rather than Tiptronic, the driver doesn’t touch the clutch pedal when he moves the gear lever to first. His right foot isn’t doing anything either. Does the car stall? It doesn’t even as much as hesitate.
Without any drama at all, the car just moves with the tach registering the same 900 rpm. “Even your grandmother couldn’t stall this car”, says our driver. And to prove his point he shifts to second, again without touching a pedal. The Rt12 just proceeds to go a bit less slowly. And then he repeats this trick in third, fourth, fifth and sixth. We’re doing 39 km/h now, according to the LCD readout at the bottom of the speedo, with the engine still at idle speed and not complaining in the least...

Ahhhhh - that explains why when I drove the RT12 I was amazed at the low speed drivability.
The clutch seemed to almost be not required it was so smooth and light... LOL - it turns out it wasn't needed . hehe
Driving the RT12 is like having the Finger of God push you around like a toy car - it just goes and stops at your command - and the intoxicating top end rush is what I was after with my power mods.
That car really is a true everyday driver, that at the push of the gas pedal tunrs into a psycho nutter mobile.
I think I will dig up my in car video of the RT12 and Yellowbird and try mix up a little JW.. I mean MW video for all 'yall.

Awesome car, but was it just me or were both cars constantly fighting understeer... the car pushed every corner and when he got off the throttle the car swung around... I dont prefer those handling characteristics

If that was an AWD RT12 they are a little understeery on the entry, but its very progressive and controllable, and all you do is feed in the throttle and it does pull around and pulls like a locomotive on the exit.
I think he was also being a little flamboyant and was working the car for he camera.

The ruf are so well build and engineerd
And the most amazing thing is a proper ruf can keep up 99.9% of cars on the road and on the track.
They also have full interior no stripped interior.
And how erfortless a ruf drives.

Only because the Porsche underneath has improved so much.
We compared the AWD Yellowbird to the AWD RT12 back to back - 1993 vs 2006 cars both capable of the same astonishing feats.
The difference is that the 2006 car was as quiet and luxurious as a Caddy, while the 1993 car was a stripped interior, full bore race car for the streets - thats what advance in technology does for you.
The point I am making is that RUFs have become more refined over time only because the 911 platform has become faster yet more refined over time as well

However, such a conversion retains the Porsche VIN# and does nto receive a RUF VIN#, and not all the options are avilable as conversion projects.
A RUF Vin#'d car is a little more RUF than a conversion Porsche VIN#'d car.

That is the tuner side of ruf
Even the 'normal'' ruf conversions still rock.
