Its called a Bot Fly larva.
The larva is dropped off by the fly (usually onto a cow or monkey or squirrel), but sometimes onto a human. Its so small when this happens that you probably wouldn't even know it.
Then the larva burrows into the skin wher it lives for about a month during which time it grows by feeding on your flesh.
If not extracted, it will come out on its own in a few weeks.
This is one of the most disturbing parasites a person can get.
