Not that I'm encouraging this sort of stuff, but I'm currently leeching of a wireless network that hasn't been secured.
I'm overseas on work for 4 weeks and am staying at a service apartment thingy. I was here for a whole week using a combination of 56K dialup, GPRS on my mobile and having to venture to Starbucks when I wanted to VPN back to work after hours (god their macchiatos suck donkeys balls). Turned on my airport card last Friday and lo & behold there was an open network. The funny thing (for me at least) was that my powerbook struggles with WiFi reception due in part to the metal casing and poor position of the internal antenna.
Luckily this isn't Australia where alot of broadband plans have a specified amount of monthly downloads and the ISP charges around 15cents a meg over the limit. Else I'd feel really dirty and bad about the whole thing
If you are having a wireless LAN at home, make sure it is secured with WEP , as mentioned above by thamar, evoWalo & Dan\/6.

I'm not getting excellent speeds, but it is good enough to browse JW and the occasional upload to the Mag section.
