Waterlogged DBS

April 21, 2008 Quantum leap Q would not be impressed. A stunt driver (or a delivery driver, depending on which source you read) tasked with driving an Aston Martin DBS to the set of the latest Bond film, Quantum of Solace, has lost control in heavy rain and sent the car into Lake Garda. The DBS ploughed through the barrier before coming to rest 50 foot below the surface, getting mangled up something proper along the way. A crane was brought to fish it out - and as you can see from the pictures, the DBS took to water like, erm, a duck to a deep fat fryer. If it was Roger Moore's submersible Esprit, of course - or the Rinspeed sQuba - things would have been different. To make matters conveniently worse, Bond producers say they have no back-up DBSs. Still, it's good publicity for the film. The sort of publicity you just can't buy...
