I loved this car. I completely disagree with some thinking 4.2 seconds to 100km isn't enough based upon the power numbers. That's amazing for a diesel, regardless of torque. Remember that there is no time component to figuring torque, only horsepower. That's why you can't judge how quick a car should be based upon torque numbers. For a car with 500hp, 4.2sec is quite reasonable, and 24mpg is fantastic for anything with 12 cylinders, regardless of displacement or hp. I don't think this car was built to sell R8s, I think it was built to showcase what they can do with a TDi engine and did so with a flashy package in order to get publicity. As far as I can see it worked.
