Melbourne International Motor Show Auction

March 12, 2007 the Melbourne International Motor Show had a classic car auction. SCM magazine reports on the auction. It is still a small auction with only 41 lots and a total sale of only $1,387,485 USD. It piqued my interest as it has some cars you probably will only see in Australia.

Lot 57 1968 Holden Monaro HK GTS 307 coupe (looks like a Dodge Duster) 307 ci V8 2bbl auto 29,924 miles Condition #3 Sold at $39,967 USD

Lot 46 1969 Holden Monaro HK GTS 327 coupe (looks like a Dodge Duster) 327 ci V8 4bbl 4 spd 25,743 miles Condition #2 Sold at $94,824 USD

Lot 45 1971 Chrysler Charger VH R/T E38 coupe (looks like a smallish Dodge Charger)265 ci straight 6 3x2bbl 3 spd (imagine if it had a hemi) Condition #2 Sold at $110,497 1 of 316 made.

Holden is the GM brand name in Australia. I think the Monaro was the car that was made in Australia and imported here into the US as the new Pontiac GTO

Obviously the classic muscle car market is heating up down under.

But my big question, were are any of these like Max's "the last of the V8 interceptors"?
