A hitch-hiking car thief was so stupid that he boasted about stealing two super-quick Subaru Imprezas to the dealer who owned them!
Car dealer Sajid Khan, 25, could not believe his ears when the hitch-hiker he picked-up started to brag about having stolen two Subaru Imprezas from Riverside Motors in Wakefield, Yorkshire, in the UK.
Khan, who owns the Riverside Motors business, and was on his way home from just having cleared-up the mess from the ram raid, had stopped to give the man a lift.
"He just got into my car and asked if we could drop him off at the taxi rank," said Khan.
"We were amazed when he told us what he had done. Why would he say that?"
The dealer, together with a friend in the car, restrained the man and drove straight to the police station.
The cars were later recovered by police.
West Yorkshire Police said three men from Leeds, aged 18, 19 and 20, had been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
At the time the hitch-hiker got into the car, Khan was wearing a T-shirt printed with the name: 'Riverside Motors'!
