drugs in motorsports (also a Poll)
hope this topic isn't a repost (i did a search and didn't find nothing about this) and doesn't get lost as some of fordcapri's topics
so... all of us have heard about performance enhancement drugs in sports (epo, anabolics, stereoids, etc.), well known such as ben johnson from canada (beating carl lewis in the ____olympics with a little help from his friends)
now as the last olympics have just finished, and some greek athletes were caught "cheating", and that I read and article in which the IOC/COI (International Olympic Comitee) "banned" the FIA and now the COi doesn't recognize the FIA as an official federation and all because the FIA doesn't forbid the use of drugs in motorsports.
yes... being in a sportcar, racing, etc. is very demanding... having a minimum of 40°C in the cabin, losing lots of water, etc.,
but what do you think? drugs are a myth? Shummi, Rubens, DC, KR, old time favorites such as senna, mansell, prost, emerson, etc. used/use drugs to handle the stress of the competition, to withstand all the suffering of the g forces, bumps, pain, to keep sharp at all time?
I say yes... racing drivers use some medications/drugs to increase their performance.
If you do it to increase your weight in the gym; cyclists have used them for decades, etc etc
so? your opinion, please
