My Documents crashes

Every time i view the my documents folder on my computer it craashes back to the desktop. However i can still access all my files through programs anyone have any ideas what it could be? BTW I'm Running windows XP on this system:

Multivision laptop
P4 2.8ghz
1gb ram
60gb hard disk (20 gb remaining)

Any help would be very much appreciated
