Default Is the RR or the MM the best car in the world?

I don't understand why Mercedes tryed to build a car that's supposed to be the most luxurious car in the world under the brand Maybach, but the car turned out to be a a more electronically-deviced thing then the S-class. The only thing that separates the Maybach from the S-class is some of the interior and some of the exterior, but you can still clearly see that Maybach is a Mercedes.

Rolls Royce Phantom on the other hand, is a beautifully built car. You can clearly see that the design has been taken from various Rolls Royce models over the years. It is magnificent. Nice car.

But which car is the best car in the world?

The Rolls Royce?

Or the Maybach?

Neither. The best car in the world doesn't have to be a typical luxury car. But out of the two I think I'd take the Maybach coz it has more electronics inside. And it's definately more spacious (62 version).

Rolls looks solid, but the interior looks cramped on my perspective in comparision to Maybach. I would simply take Maybach over Rolls, basically because the interior is more refined and its german

I love the Rolce Royce. If I would want to impress on a couple of chicks and I had to choose a car to impress them with, that car would do the trick.

It imediatly looks like a classic and still modern at the same time. Great design IMO. And which one is best? The Maybach may be a bit better, but probably not much and the impression of the RR is so much better IMO

The RR is not a small car. It has huge wheels and is very tall so it hides it's length and scale. A customer at a restaurant I was at had one. I was in my girlfriend's VR6 Jetta and found myself looking up at it from the same perspective I have when I'm in the RX7 looking at 'normal' cars. The driving position is between a large sedan and an SUV according to BMW.

______________ Maybach57/62*____RR**____S-class:***
Length: _______225.5-242.7________229.69___203.1
wheelbase: ____133.5-150.7________140.55___121.5
height: ________61.9______________64.25____56.9
width _________78_______________ 78.35____73.1

**CAR feb 2003
***Mercedes brochure 2000

Based on these figures the RR seems to be in between the 57 and the 62 with respect to length, but is nearly 3 inches taller than either model and has about 7inches on the 'miniscule' S-class. I think the height of the rear seat backrests is deceiving; I'm sure it is far from cramped.

Excalibur is known as the Hollywood-show-off car. There is few of them here in Europe. The Excalibur isn't a luxury car, but a wanna-be-luxury-car.

Even though Mercedes has a lot of electronics, the Rolls has captured the Rolls-feeling, as Jeremy said when he tested it. Something the Maybach lacks.

I think the Maybach, only because I saw a review on it and it just has everything you could ask for....as for the RR i'm not too sure about...I haven't seen a review of it as of yet. So for now...i'll stick to maybach

I like the Rolls Royce, cause the Maybach can't compare to it history wise. Even though Maybach were popular about 100 years ago. Rolls' the best! No doubt.
