^No it isn't. Bankstown is full of hoons, and this high-profile police car may do something to lower the hooning.

A hoon is someone who drives in a crazy manner (like doing burnouts etc), usually in ricers, and usually out west in places like Bankstown.

I still don't see how this is going to help, other than the fact that the police could possibly enter a high stakes tourmanents with these hoons with cars as wagers themselves to win out these hoons' cars, Fast and the Furious style.

Well now they've got some street cred because they're driving an exotic. The hoons will probably show more respect to the Exige than the regular V8s. I guess that's the idea. They wouldn't do it if they didn't think that it'd work.

Respect. I know what you mean. Although I'd be more terrified if the police went around in an FPV GTP or a HSV GTS. But I guess they don't command "respect" from these hoons.

Well, I've never seen them used as police cars. I see Commodore SS V8s, but not the FPV or HSV cars.
