There actually is music in the background, though it's pretty quiet

I was driving around the track whole last week and noticed one thing.
The CGT driver knew the bends really good. The race line is perfect. But the BMW, due to both it's driver and it's setup, are able to follow, even if the line he use is not as effective..

Impressive....

Yea I noticed the BMW was taking a less than ideal line as well, and he was still pounding around pretty bloody quick. Impressive car and driver combo indeed.

I noticed that the CGT knew his way around the track pretty well too. The BMW driver picked the right car to follow, and good thing he had the power to keep up!

You could tell the BMW was taking different lines, not far off, but just to enough so you can see a bit difference in handling characteristics.

It's really amazing a 20+ year old car (sure with some upgrades) can keep up with the 'Ring monster.

a fellow ringroller analyzed that video, he said that both of the drivers did not have a clue about the real racing line, bmw is fast and so is cgt, cgt seemed to use the track in full width too, but still the line he used was far from the optimal.

Just watch initial-d and you understand what i am talking about

If you're talking about jumping the curbs for the "shortest" line possible, just remember is a cartoon.. I know a lot of the stuff in Initial D is true but when it comes to the Ring you can't really jump curbs.

The line the CGT was taking seemed pretty damn close to the ideal line considering there was lots of traffic on the track which doesnt allow you to setup your turns to carry the most amount of speed into the corner.

Dani, you're damn right... this has got to be one of the most BAD ASS E30's ever.

How is the M3 "chasing the CGT" if as soon as the track straightens out the BMW is left for dead?

A better tagline would be "an M3 follows a CGT where it can, but is as expected out gunned evrywhere except in the lsowest hairpin bends".

RC, you're just never satisfied here on JW are you? ;p

The M3 is chasing the Carrera GT. Sure it does not catch it or over take it, but it is definitely chasing it.
