You know, parallel parking is probably the last real skill you can have in terms of driving legally.
So why take it away?
Although occasionally people do park in an idiotic way. Like parallel parking their hatch into a space big enough to easily fit two
For those 'people', this should be mandatory

Fair enough for irregular kerbs (although on a straigh road's parallel parkings line I don't see how this could happen ). Oh yes, if you have poles places in the middle of a parallel parking in your area I'd like to see it
Of course the caravan thing could be tricky to handle, but I don't think the system is set to go that close to the other cars

Oh interesting! Talking about Germany? I watched the video but couldn't listen to it.
it's weird.. here there are cars like the Jag that automatically operate gas and brake when the cruise control coupled with the radar system is on.. so if it can do it while cruising at 140 kmh, why not at parking speed?

Really good point TT. We all saw 2 S-class's drive into each other which caused way more damage parking speed would ever do....

how come most of you disagree with that technology?
please raise your hand if you have never hitted the curb, any car while parking, taking too long to do it?
simply, why not?
with that I would really trust leaving my car on the streer

It would be handy to have it, but as a few already question how well this will function under tricky condition. Have u ever parallel parked into a very tight spot and feel good about it?
