The comparison is "who cares about the veyron or V10 M5 or Gallardo or C-GT"... that's what.

There are very high HP hobbyist cars on the street every weekend out these parts...

So we don't need no stinking factory HP to make us feel good...

And i europe whe have a also some high power cars.
Like rod tharry's mad sierra saff cosworth 850+ bhp whit nos and race fuel ,660 bhp on pump fuel 750 bhp on race fuel no nos.
The engine in the sierra is only 2100cc or 2,1 liter.

Robert uhr's 650 bhp saab 900 turbo whit 2.5 litre engine huge turbo and fwd good allround fast car.

Here is way this sierra cosworth kills al supercars on accleration and in gear also.
Btw these are old perfomance stats whit older spec engine.
current time for 1-250 km/h is 13,2 seconds thats faster than a veyron.

The bottomline is stock supercars are have no straightline accleration and some are only fast on topspeed.

it's not about JUST HP, and numbers....or else you should post the 600hp Neons which trash Z06s too.

I was just told about my TT having a new APR Stage 3 Kit which pushes the HP up to 400hp, which will allow my car to embarass many supercars.....but that's not the point....cars are not just about numbers.

it's about styling, integration, technology, handling, pushing borders of production, production techniques. You're right in that there are plenty of cars pushing HP up......but they still don't carry the whole package.

i'm sorry but i'm not particularly interested in driving a 1000hp Supra assembled by 2 drunk fat men as their "hobby".....i'll have my Veyron now
Ah - the guy with the chicks car is jealous..

Sure 1 Cossy Sierra... that list is just the cars in a 100 mile radius..

There are more 200mph+ capable cars in Houston than cars Lamborghini sells per year...

At 4000 cars produced per year, this car is right there with that common or garden variety F360 isn't it?

I mean Ferrari used to make 1500 cars a year at one time, noe they spit out a 1000 cars a month

Oh and there is nothing "midlife" about a 33 year old buying a sports car...

LOL I live in small place dude only 1000 people or so, and we got plenty of high powered cars here capable of high speeds and great accleration, and this is in a nation where according to you we are not allowed to do anything and everything are so expensive that nobody can afford anything.....so pr capita we piss on your list by far.....
OK - put your dick where your mouth is - and piss away... letrs see the list of high hp, high speed cars in your village

And that list is simply the folks who have attended a local forum get together - it's not a list of all cars by a long shot...

Just sounds like a V-Max event over here. Who cares if is stock/modified/common or rare. The fact is they all kick ass!

To be fair, High HP in general is nothing new. In fact, some 'supercars' have been getting slower...Anyone remember the Top Gear vid/Clarkson vid with the XJ220 that kicked some more modern ass!

The yanks must be doing something right (finally) as the Saleen S7 and the new Z06 are the first yank'tanks that I would actually consider spending hard earned cash on.

A significant amount of the S7 was engineered by British company RML, as was all the S7 racecars

I have to say, i'd take a Z06 over and Audi TT ANYDAY, and thats saying something

Infact i'd have a regular vettre over a TT. The TT is a pure hairdressers car through and through - the ideal fashion victims car

I do not feel the need to post a list of cars as this is easy math dude, we are 1000 people living here and you are more than 2 million in Houston, there are no way in hell there are more high powered cars there pr capita than here....so just put that dick right back in your mouth and piss away dude.....
Atually the greater Houston area is probably 3 or 4 million... with an entire extended tax base (for GST etc) of abotu 6 million..

Per capita is just a statistical variant invented to keep small crusty euro-viallages/villagers from commiting mass-suicide as they really have no impact on much at all

Back to the original intent of the thread - a blanket insult to everthing Continental Europe... We have more and faster "hobbyists" cars tooling around on pump gas, than the total number "wannabes" in the entire region back there.

That sounds similar to what Americans say about BHP/Litre
