It was a special issue car, but not exactly modified.....
No it's not italian (huge clue), and it's not a saab...although that was quite an "educated" guess..

There appears to be a front quarter window infront of the driver's window which no Datsun ever had.
The body style looks like the 70's Z cars but the frontend/headlights looks more like the 83-89 300ZX.
Not something Nissan/Datsun ever did.
