Default The Mystery of the 550 Spider not Barchetta.

i remember there was a photo of some guy driving a 550 Spider and not a Barchetta because it didnt have the wheels. but we now know what it was. it truly was a 550 Spider!!! it was a thread of garages or something.

Whow! Thats an interesting find!

I've never seen that one before... although it looks strange without the roll hoops

Uh, the black one was supposed to belong to Jeffri, the brother of the Sultan of Brunei, I don't know why they're talking about it being owned by someone else

I don't think this Spider (red) is what it seems.

Description
1998 Ferrari 550 Spider All swear it is a Barchetta! Rosso Red w/ Tan ...Only 2 were built!
hmmm, swear it's Barchetta eh? Well, he's wrong, that's not a Barchetta.

I found out somewhere that the black example has a retractable hardtop.

so...maybe the red one's a non-Ferrari conversion. you don't see the word Ferrari mentioned anywhere, do you?

difference is this is not the mass produced Barchetta but rather the original 550 being changed into a roadster

With a retractable hardtop ? Holy shit , that is a truly spectacular car , more desirable than the superamerica !

I thought the Barchetta was a 550. Wasn't only like 450 where produced?

Yup the barcheta was a conmemorative edition of the 550 for pininfarina anniversary i think , it was build in limited edition , and for a price of 400 and something thouthand dollars , it was not a hit , cuz now you can find in ebay for 230 - 250
