I have been trying to imagine what do you actually use a PSP for?

I seen it in the store - played around with it - and can't imagine an actual use.

The screen is too small for games, watching movies is a bust since you need to buya special version, and as pointed out, lack of keyboard seemsto render it a pointless computer.

I guess I just don't get it.

i want one but then my trips to work aren't long enough. with most new games, you can only save once you passed a level or checkpoint. i'm not oging to leave it on until i have time to continue either.

im with RC i have no idea what the point of this machine is. if you want to play a Playstation game just wait until you get home to play it or something.

I think it might be a generational thing. My dad is the same way.
More than anything to me its the showpiece of the current state of technology. If we're here now, what's gonna happen in the time ahead of us is pretty damned exciting.

I can use a camera to take pictures, a cll phone to make calls, a PC to compute, heck I can even uses someones Handheld to read and answer email - is the PSP just an expensive GameBoy?

it is an expensive gameboy but it is nice to have on plane trips so you don't have to watch the shitty movies they have and since I get all my games from work (haven't bought one yet) and got the system at a huge discount at work I can't comlain. And supposedly we will be renting the movies very soon so even better. I like having it for between classes at College and when the new GTA only for PSP comes out that will be a good reason for having it.

Well, as there is no keyboard, you have to enter text using a mobile phone style keypad, with many of the common "http://" and "www." readily inserted.

Yeah, the games aren't much cop at the moment, but as a gadget it's pretty cool IMO. I got it cheap (relatively ops: ) so i'm just using it to mess about with.

Not worth the £180 UK retail price though - sorry, gis. It just hasn't been used much by me... so it's either my fault for not being interested, or Sonys fault for making it a bit boring
