is this copy of windows legal?
i saw something new, which i have not yet seen before in my windows install, its secretly located in the tab under recycle bin for help
when i clicked on that 'is it legal' tab, it brought me here... http://www.microsoft.com/resources/h...s/default.mspx
im beginning to wonder if the would be able to tell or not, but really, i dont want to find out either...
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/h...n_privacy.mspx
by the sound of it, i ought to be 'valid' since sept 2002 ... but, even sooo...

every version of windows has that tab. If it came with your computer it's legal. or if you bought at the store, it's legal.
loading it from a burned CD, not legal

What about "borrowing" IT departments MSDN collection?? I guess the action will be illegal but the copy of windows will be LOL!!!
As a conclusion, Mr. Gate does not care if you rob/mug ppl to buy a copy of windows or steal other ppl's legal copy, as long as their accounting department see the transaction, he's fine with it.

stupid question.. if you bought a copy from a legit distributor of microsoft products or it came as part of the package with a new computer you bought then its legal
anything else isn't
as this topic is in the 'discussion of warez' zone
