I'm assuming it's the 996 Turbo S! A better comparison IMO is between the F430 and the upcoming 997 Turbo.

Yeah, of course. We'll have to wait a little for the F430 vs. 997 Turbo comparison...

Considering the 997 S is about as fast as the 996 GT3 and that was miles faster than the 360, i suspect the 997 Turbo S will be a faster car unfortunately

Yeah i agree, chances are it will be faster. But the F430 will always be more desirable and the #1 choice for me.

I agree, but nonetheless, I think this was a very interesting test. Also very useful for the people debating buying a new supercar - these are two of the most reputed names in the business, and not to mention fairly well matched. Thanks for the info

It's funny because a 993 Turbo is faster than them both, however, the F430 is the car of the moment until the 997 Turbo arrives next year.

Anyway I'm sure that even the 997 turbo will be beaten by the upcomung 430 CS

Nice, glad the Ferrari won this battle, since I'm not really a Porsche Freak, but they are still very good cars.

I am surprise that the Turbo could not catch up after hitting full boost. I guess the F430 really is that fast . . .

Thanks for the comparison!

In any case, I don't think the two cars are in the same league: I have a hard time comparing performance figures of forced induction engines vs. natural aspirated ones. For me, NA > Forced induction.
