led's are the new stuff for illuminating almost anything, saving lots of weight and space.

alot less power and have a longer operating life
If they become more commonly used in headlights another option is to use 'dynamic cornering beams' without moving parts. If you switch different LEDs on and off then you can change the direction they illuminate and also brightness
