exacley, i have been to dealerships, and personaly i get them to aproach us. you stand there act confident, act like you could leave anymoment and you will have them begging you to drive there cars.
apart from the 350z that enigmatic got for the weekend. most test dvies last anywhere from 20minutes to an hour.
if they are generious they even buy you coffe.
btw it helps if you are young and rock up in a car that not many young people are driving and the dealers see you.
and never give the dealer you're number, because they will call up to ask if you are intrested.

^ thats fine with cars like a 350Z or similar, but when you start looking at Maserati's, Porsches, Ferraris then you going to need a bit more then just confidence (well here anyway where there are so many cheats)

my car ( golf 3), but parked it waaay back.
When I went to porsche, I first "borrowed" the E class from Mercedes and parked the car on the sidewalk in front of the Porsche dealership....
But the car or the clothes really don't matter.
It's the preformance and the attitude that matter.
I got the Audi A8 4.0 tdi (with all extras worth a few thousand dollars more than the maser) wearing my K-Swiss and DC Jeans( sk8-board brand) and an oirdinary white T-shirt.
Some people dress up too much and the dealers see right trough them.
It's the little things that matter. The firm and confident voice, the strong handshake, the " I don't care what you think about me" attitude, the "phone call you get", when the dealer is trying to tell you something, so you cut him off and say you have to take the call, because it's important. You don't go away, you stay with the dealer and make something up.
Like: "Listen to me Mark, I talked with George yesterday and we set a price. Don't go under that. If he doesn't want to sign, screw him, we've got people waiting..."
or: "Hi,....... yes, .....I've talked to him, tell him I'll call him from Vienna..."
Make the dealer think whatever he want's to think. If those conversations make him think, I'm an important man with lots of things on my mind and lots of cash in my wallet......
I ussualy come in, say who I am, what I want and ask for any papers, brochures and pricelists they have of the car.
I make an impression, and make sure the dealer will remember me. I go in and out in about three minutes. I walk up straight to the guy and ask for everything listed above. I act as I'm in a hurry.
Then I make the guy wait for a few days. And when I come back, I let him do all the work.
I just sit back and wait for the test drive invitation. Ofcorse, you'll never get offered a testdrive without the dealers supervision..........
I can't tell you everything.......
Or tell him what he want's to hear. If you're "buying" a Merc, tell him that you visited BMW the week before and wasn't pleased. That you got the car for three days but wasn't impressed........By that point you're not far away from the dealer saying, that he can't give you the car for three days, but could arrange for you to get the car for 24 hours.....
This one time I went to mercedes ( when the new SL came out ) and talked a bit about the car. ( I wanted to get the S class for a testdrive, and I knew they had a test car....) I said, that I was buying the SL, but I never had a mercedes or drove one, and because I knew the didn't have an SL test car, I knew they were going to give me the next best thing.....so after the dealer apologized for not having the SL, I said, that it's not important, that I just want to get a taste of the brand....also told
him, that we always had bmw's in our garage...........and guess what, in about 5 seconds he offeredme the S class
Sometimes I fell like starring in the movie "catch me if you can".....
What the hell, we only live once

The 300D pics are indeed nice but it's difficult to screw up with such a camera obviously!
As for the original size, it is always handy to play with 6 MP when you need to edit your pics with some better positioning (with some cropping)
I am not really a detail guy, actually I never save details pics so I am very happy with his pics LOL
