Sweet pic. Like seeing the evolution

and I agree w/ bmwpower, the new 3 looks really big. Almost looks like it should be a 5 series compared to the older ones at least

The new one looks out of place. The first four (I think) are all instantly recognizable as 3 series (and evolutions of the 3 series). The fifth one does not look like a natural evolution of the previous version.

yes, the E90 does look like it took a leap and a bound from the E46, but it's going to get people talking. That's one of the things Bangle wanted, controversy. And love it or hate it, you've been talking about it. I think that the E90 will be excepted into the family once the initial chock wears off and other manufacturers begin to mimic BMWs lines. if you recall, each new model launch seemed to be styled a bit ahead of its time, and eventually looked like all the other cars out there, but it stood out when it needed to, and i believe that is still being achieved to this day. How many other cars look like an E65/66, E60, or an E63? even th E85, 83 and 53 have no comparisons. i have a feeling that if you give it another couple of years, something is going to come out that can be compared to the styling of these cars. As i said, love it or hate it, there is no comparison.

Agreed. . . but then again I own a E30 and a E36 =) .

Another reason why the new one (E90) is bigger is probably because they had to make room for the 1 - Series. Marketing segments. . .

BTW excellent article.

I can't see what the problem is with the E90... it looks brilliant if you ask me. Major leap ahead in the right direction. It makes the rest look rather bland.
