wow! hahaha that gives me ideas. Attaching a golf parked behind an SUV. If you attach them both then none of them will be able to leave hahha. Ill do that in my country sometime. Hopefullly the chain isnt that expensive.

You are completely correct - most towing companies wouldn't touch the car as they'd be scared of causing damage by pulling the pole onto the car or ripping the front bumper or even destroying the lock - the car owner would then have a case against the towing company for property damage.
If nothing else it would buy the car owner some time while the tow truck operator and the tow company decided what the hell to do about it, by which time you'd be back at your car and ready to drive it away yourself!!
Slightly O/T, but I've always wondered if you had hydraulic suspension and dropped it really low so your tires are well up in the wheel wells when parked, if it would stop someone putting a wheelclamp (boot) on your car...
