Default Mazda RX-8 photosession

Me and my friend Tommy had a little photosession with a borrowed Mazda RX-8 here the other day and I just figured I would share the results with all of you. (we didn't just take photos, we put some pedal to the metal as well, we even killed a cat... seriously )

This is clearly a nice car, but last week i test drove it and i can say i was kinda disappointed. I mean in top gear they say it has a very good handling, but i took a curve at 60mph (witch is not a lot) and i really felt the car unstable... the acceleration is good, but for a light weight 230 bhp is wasn't terrific i think. I really wanted to love it as much as all of you, and i like it, i'm not saying that is a bad car, it's good but i really was expecting more.

I use an Ixus (seriously).

Thanks for the comments people!

krlos: we had it going about 100mph in a curve (a quite soft curve though) and to me it felt very stable...

unless u droped the platinum visa on the table, no chance in hell ne dealer is gonna give a 17 yr old kid a rx 8 to test. let alone the availability of said car is low.(in canada at least) but hey i dunno maybe ur dad owns the country and ur a well known socialite?! beats me, but i feel ur comments so far on the board are suspect. and unless u were trying to go around a hair pin at 100km/h i doubt this car would have ne prob. i havent tested one, cause the dealer would laugh in my face and give me a mazda three to test. but this car has had rave reviews, and handeling is supposed to be one of its best character traits. krlos, ive thought u were bullshit from the start, but i hope u prove me wrong!seriously.

btw, hanasand, fantastic pics! u seem to have a real eye for great photos! keep up the good work

hahahaha like your comment. Obviously i didn't go alone and ask to test drive the best RX-8 available in the dealership lol. first of all i went with a friend of mine who has a golf R32. He's 18. We said that i drive an SUV and that i'm tired of that and my step father wanted to buy me a sports car as a graduation gift. We talked about 20 mins about the car and i said that i had test driven a 350z (is not true) and shit. My friend test drove it for a short time but the guy didn't let me cause i'm not 18. So next day i went back to Mazda with my dad, to prove that i was a serious buyer and that's when i test drove it. The guy was 19 so he was cool and he had to let me go fast cause what i wanted is to see the performance not how it goes at 40mph, it's a sport car remember? then i told the guy what i think about the handling and mentioned that in top gear they say is the best character of the car and he did agree with me about that curve and because i'm 17 i couldn't drive it more than 10 min. I didn't say that it handels bad i said is not as i was expecting. I think that is a very fun car to drive as they say, but about the rest i'm still a bit disappointed. I just didn't like the rotary engine i guess... Don't believe everything journalist say. You don't always have to agree with them. I mean i 'm just telling you my experience believe it or not.
But anyways, then i went to a nissan dealership to test drive the 350Z but they didn't let me... they let my friend though but the guy was with him so i couldn't feel what it's like. My friend says i way better than the RX-8...

Seriously you got to try that, you just have to prove them that you can afore the car and that you are serious and very interested...

I thought you were talking to me at first, since I am also 17 instead of krlos. But I guess I can still tell you how we got to borrow this Mazda from the local dealer. It was my buddy Tommy (who is an 18 year old rally enthusiast) who got to borrow it, basically saying we were only taking photos of it also promising to supply them with them afterwards. Then the dealer sort of agreed but told us not to drive it fast at all, but we did, obvieusly. And it was a nice ride indeed, krlos I don't think you can have driven the same car as me if you felt it unstable at a curve in 60mph...

well i was really surprised cause i know it's supposed to handle perfectly. i guess i didn't have enough time to drive it but the only curve i took was that one, so you know, i'm not sure about that car anymore. probably if i had took that curve again i wouldn't have feel that but still. hope you know what i mean. but i'm sure it's a good car.
