Now that is an awesome sight...
Let's sit back and wait for the "but that car can't handle" brigade to arrive...

God I love those old muscle cars, but I do also see the point that they dont really handle. Then again in my mind this car was designed to drive down the pacific coast highway with the engine rumbling away..

Actually in that trim, those cars handled as well as other GT cars of the day.
Make no mistake, that isn't a 1965 NASCAR..

LOL, that is one good looking car!
And to think they sold these bad boys for $4000 in 1965. I wish I had a time machine!
There was another method to getting one cheap. You first buy yourself a base model Mustang. Something like $2000 back in the day. Then you went to Hertz. Believe it or not, you could rent them, they were labeled as a GT350H.
(H is for Hertz)! Hertz had a rent a racer program at the time.
Take the rental home, pull the motor and various other bits out and swap them onto your base model Mustang!
It shortly came to end when Hertz realized what was going on.
I saw a show a while ago on on the history channel all about muscle cars and road racing. They stated that one of the Hertz GT350H's had been rented and used in the 12 Hours of Sebring! LOL

I love the looks of this car, it looks classic, but modern at the same time. And its gotta have some power with that Paxton on there. I wouldnt be surprised if this car actually had quite good handling. maybe not supercar handling, but better than most mid-range road cars of today.

Beautiful, what a wide track it has too. The GT350 and 500 models are Shelby right?
