Default McLaren MP4-12C Update

Does it ever sound crummy. I'm reminded of a Lotus Esprit V8 .

The exhaust note is like a toned down version of the LFA one... which results in fail.

The sound reminds me of a muffled 4.2 FSI from Audi. I'm sure it will be fast. Hopefully it looks better than the photos we've seen so far.

It sounds fine. I like the low-end warble. You can't expect much from a tiny V8 with two turbos. Now. About the name...

Is it because it's very similar in size and configuration? Not that I mind the Lotus V8.

Metallic orange is possibly the worst color to show a new car in.

Yes yes. But clearly how the Italians think and how the Briton think are different. And frankly, we won't know how good the MP4-12C sounds until we see one on the road.
