I am liking this hyundai coupe more and more every day, the problem is, will they keep on making them after the first model year?

I doubt it will sell that well. The 370Z is such a strong competitor, they would need a big price advantage to attract customers. Let's not forget about the upcoming Camero, that car looks bitchin with the 3.6 engine.

its not a 370 competitor. Its more of a g37 competitor, and it will have quite a price advantage.

OK...I've seen them in the flesh at this point and I have to say, it's a good-looking vehicle. Unfortunately unlike the Genesis sedan which has a rather nicely-appointed interior with a good fit-and-finish and lots of soft-touch materials, the coupe has a very...very...very...plasticky, hard, unrefined interior. It feels far too much like the Chery, BYD and SAIC products that I've seen, and much too much like the Hyundais of old. Unless they fix the build quality and fit-and-finish issues, I doubt it's going to steal too many sales from the 370Z, Camaro V6, Mustang V6, and so forth.

I think this car's biggest selling point is that it's light "cheap" rwd fun, especially in turbo 2.0 trim. It doesn't quite have the punch to keep up with the likes of the Camaro, Mustang, and Z, but it should have a significant price advantage. A Z starts right at just under 30k so any option takes you out of the 20's while I expect The base genesis coupe to start at V6 Camaro prices . . . I just used the 370Z configurator . . . did you know that you can spend 42k on a Z?!

if you are moronic enough to spend 42k on a z just for options and extra junk you deserve the dunce hat, go to the corner Jimmy!!!

I am buying the camaro, that is a given, but I want to test drive the genesis coupe also, if I like it I may just opt for it, I am tired of waiting for GM

Material use on the Genesis are a suprise. Build quality is not. I was expecting a lot when I finally got to touch it. I don't think it deserved COTY; as it felt assembled more sloppily than a show car BMW.

Yeah, I don't know what is taking the Camero so long. GM knows this will sell like hot pan cakes if they didn't screw up the reliability.

I saw recent pics and the Oshawa plant is now producing Camaros so they should be showing up soonish! As for reliability, the mechanics are tried and tested, its all up to the electronics to be reliable.

The 3.6 has been used widely in different platforms, so it should be okay.

Hyundai announced pricing of the Genesis Coupe at the Chicago Auto Show. The much-anticipated sporty brother to the luxurious new Genesis sedan goes on sale later this month, offering rear-wheel drive and V6 power, and offering Hyundai a chance to play in the serious-performance market.

The Genesis Coupe is available with a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 210 horsepower, or a 3.8 liter V6 with 306 horses on tap. Both vehicles can be had with a six-speed manual transmission, and a Track package offering tighter handling, bigger brakes and other performance upgrades is available with both powertrains.

Since it's Hyundai, the reasonable nature of the pricing isn't much of a surprise. The Genesis Coupe 2.0T has an MSRP of just $22,000 for the base, manual-transmission equipped model. Opt for the five-speed automatic and the bottom line goes up to $23,250. For V6 power, the line starts at $25,000 for a manual transmission and $26,500 for automatic. A freight charge of $750 applies to all of the vehicles. Check out the press release for the full pricing matrix and standard equipment list.
Now that's a price that will do damage.
